To support our expansion, we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Finance team as an Enterprise Risk Management Lead. The responsibilities associated with this role will stretch across the organisation’s business activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and advise on Enterprise-wide risks by working with colleagues responsible for managing IT Risk, Cyber Security Risk, Physical Security Risk, Compliance and potentially others
  • Work closely with Block.one CFO, COO and other key stakeholders to develop the risk management infrastructure, controls, reporting and systems to support Block.one’s growth aspirations
  • Build a robust risk management and reporting framework across key financial and non-financial risks, factoring best practices across traditional and crypto industries
  • Work with the businesses to define risks for each and determine an appropriate rating based on magnitude of impact and likelihood of occurrence 
  • Work with the businesses to identify mitigations
  • Communicate definitions and expectations for risk acceptance for unmitigated risks. Support the Board in holding relevant executives accountable. 
  • Develop and maintain a risk register for the consolidated Block.one businesses
  • Establish and support the risk committee and asset-liability committee, as required
  • Build reporting tools appropriate for senior management and Board consumption
  • Implement necessary systems, data analytics, processes and internal controls to support efficient growth and management of the business
  • Provide trusted advice on the optimal (risk vs reward) treatment of key operational risks. Support the attestation process in relation to control environment questions 
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills and ability to interface effectively with senior management
  • Demonstrate an ability to quickly grasp key concepts across the diverse range of businesses operated by Block.one
  • Project management and strategic advisory role to start rather than compliance and transaction focused
  • Any other matters commensurate to the role or as may be required of you by Block.one CFO, COO and/or management team of the Company and its Associated Companies

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of risk management experience in a leadership position, ideally in a multi-national environment
  • Financial Services / Technology / Fintech / Media / Risk consulting industry experience preferred
  • Qualifications similar to CPA / CA / FRM / CFA
  • Risk certification like CRMA (Certificate in Risk Management Assurance)
  • Previous experience with designing and implementing risk framework applying to diverse businesses
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm about blockchain and the crypto space
  • A team player and has demonstrated ability to collaborate across geographies and organisational boundaries
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Highly intellectual capabilities, particularly in analytical and strategic contexts
  • Problem solving and data modelling skills
  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and priorities effectively
