In-House Counsel

We are looking for a seasoned In-House Counsel to join our Legal team in Northern Virginia.  This is a high-impact, high-profile role as the lead attorney for the organization based in the United States.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide practical advice and solutions for the US business and operations, which span product development, software engineering, cybersecurity, HR, finance and marketing.

  • Assist in setting up new business activities, including navigating relevant regulatory regimes, which are often complex and/or evolving.

  • Coordinate with the global legal and compliance team on standards, strategic initiatives and group-wide matters.

  • Manage ordinary course contentious matters that may arise.

  • Oversee and develop the contract management and procurement systems and personnel.

  • Create and maintain corporate policies and manuals and build scalable and effective processes.

  • Keep abreast of developments in relevant laws and regulations and disseminate this knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • US-qualified attorney with minimum 8 years’ experience in leading law firms and in-house in the technology industry.

  • Broad experience with general corporate, commercial, IT/IP, regulatory and contentious matters.

  • Experience dealing with technology matters relating to blockchain, cybersecurity, software licensing or cloud are a plus.

  • Proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.

  • Ability to connect and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information.

  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
